Our History
A short history of the Mankato chapter, highlighting its key milestones and impact.
The Jack Loso Chapter of the Izaak Walton League is a new and growing initiative, built on the belief that local action can drive meaningful environmental change. Founded in 2024, this chapter was started by a group of passionate conservationists and community leaders who saw a need for youth engagement, hands-on environmental projects, and stronger local advocacy for Mankato’s natural spaces. Our journey began with the launch of Green Crew, a program dedicated to empowering young people to take leadership roles in conservation. From there, we are building a chapter that will focus on habitat restoration, clean water initiatives, and sustainable community practices, ensuring that Mankato has an active voice in protecting its environment. As we take our first steps, we invite the community to be part of something new, impactful, and lasting. Together, we will shape a chapter that fosters environmental responsibility and makes a real difference in Mankato.
